William Woody

I’m a freelance software developer with a long-standing focus on building robust, user-focused applications for iOS, Android, macOS, and the web. My recent work includes projects in mobility services and financial technology, where I’ve designed and built secure, scalable solutions across platforms. I specialize in delivering clean, maintainable code and thoughtful user experiences—whether for consumer-facing apps or complex internal tools.

I have significant experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, Objective-C, Swift, and Kotlin, and I’m equally comfortable with modern frameworks like Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI as I am with legacy layout systems like Android XML and iOS/macOS storyboards. On the backend, I’ve built and maintained client-server architectures, and I’ve developed web applications using PHP and JavaScript, as well as JSP.

Earlier in my career, I worked in a variety of roles ranging from startups to larger organizations, including time at Symantec, and AT&T Interactive. I also spent time at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where I contributed to scientific visualization projects for major planetary missions. These diverse early experiences have helped me develop a pragmatic, results-driven but thoughtful approach to software design and development.

Today, I continue to consult independently through my company, Glenview Software, working closely with clients to turn ideas into polished products. I also maintain several open-source projects and write about development topics through my personal blog.
